Burgundy

Burgundy Ruffle Dress: Xhiliration
Brown Suede Ankle Strap Pumps: The Little Things She Needs
Slim Animal Print Belt: Random, Shanghai
Gold Cuff with Stones: Mom's
Burgundy Strap Watch: FREE from Watson's! Haha!

Scanning through my past photos, I realized that majority of them had me grinning like a happy schoolgirl who just heard that there are no classes today. So I thought, since this is a self-love (a.k.a vanity) project, why not try a different look for once?

So here I am in numerous photos looking serious and contemplative....and okay, a little pissed. Haha!

On a more serious note, don't you hate it when you go into a store and ask a sales lady what sizes a particular dress or top they have available and they look you up and down like they're sizing you up, only to return the question with an incredulous, "Para sa inyo?" (Translation, "For you?") Like they can't believe you actually think you could fit into the dress!

What a way to turn a customer off. Argh. I get it. I have been getting that since I hit puberty since most clothing sizes in the Philippines don't fit me, but I still get a bit hurt and sometimes offended when I'm treated that way.

Do you ever get that?

  1. Gorgeous dress! I love the ruffled detail along with the basic shape of the dress. I am not too keen on the two-tone wedge pumps, but they are very nice to go with this dress.

As for the "grinning like a happy schoolgirl who just heard there are no classes today," express yourself however you please. I do prefer someone who grins and is happy and is natural. Don't feel like you have to be fierce or mean in your images. Just let your style and personality flow along with your outfits. And besides- you have a pretty smile! :)

    Great outfit. Lovely yet again.

  3. As I was reading through, I was gonna ask where you got the burgundy watch... until I saw that you got it for FREE from watsons :(

Anyway, I get that question a lot too. I've been both overly skinny and chubby, and at both times in my life, I get that question.

I don't get it. It's seldom that you buy a dress for someone else. I bet that most shoppers buy for themselves. So you know, that question is definitely a read-between-the-lines question.

    Irritating.

    1. Yes, it's a free watch from Watson's when you buy I think 1500 and above. Don't expect it to last though... I think the battery ran out after a few days. Haha!

Some salespeople are just lacking in courtesy.

  4. What a rude woman. Great sales tactic there. I love the dress and the accessories you paired with it.

  5. Yes, I sometimes still get that but I don't let them get away with it. Once I confront them, they change their tune. Rude women!

Love the dress and bracelet. Fantastic!

  9. I love this color on you! And for fall weather! And those shoes look suspiciously like ones I've had pinned on my Pinterest board and have been drooling over for a few months now. Lucky!

And as for that sales lady, that's just plain rude. No two ways about it. You're beautiful!

  10. i really hate when sales people do that - or when they want to give an opinion about how good something looks as my husband frowns and shakes his head like 'that looks terrible on you, run!' i prefer online shopping because i dont have to deal with people - ha! anyhow i LOVE the burgundy dress on you - this color is SO pretty. and i love those shoes - neutral heels are just so wonderful

    1. I agree, Katherine. It's hard to discern when a salesperson is being sincere or just trying to close a sale.

  11. True, an instant turn-off.
You look great in that dress and that shade of purple. I like your shoes too. I have one (sort of like that) in black and now I think I want one in nude too :D

  13. Oxbloood!!! Love the color of the dress, i think whether grinning like a happy school girl or posing fierce, you still look beautiful while working that curves!

Oh about the incident - all the time. I end up totally ignoring the sales lady and jump to someone more fashion minded / less judgemental.
