Not Too Sweet

Here's an outfit post (and a bonus close-up of my huge face lol) to give you guys a break from all the travel posts. :)

Dress and Gold Necklaces: Forever 21 Plus
Cut-out Booties: SM Parisian Plus
Black Bangle: From Shanghai

What is with lace that I can't seem to get my hands off them? I wore this F21+ coral dress to my Dad's birthday dinner where we had a bounty of grilled rock lobster, prawns, fresh sashimi and sinigang at Oakwood's buffet. The selection wasn't that impressive as other hotel buffets, but the dishes were pretty satisfying. I would suggest adding more desserts though. A girl's gotta have her sweets, right? :D

Speaking of sweets, to keep this outfit from being overly saccharine, I added edgy cut-out boots and accessories that would toughen the look. I like having that balance of sweetness and adding some elements that pull it from the land of frilly, estrogenized things so I won't end up looking like a huge, dressed-up toddler gone bad. Haha!

How would you style a lace dress?

Hugs,
The Belated Bloomer

  13. Your face and your smile are both sweet. Same goes for this coral dress. Nice shoes to go with it as well. Yeah, the lace-up sandals add some edge to this look. However, it is chic toughness; not like the girl who'd wear fishnets and combat boots and easily ruin a formal-type outfit. The sky blue nail polish is a nice touch as well. Abi allure and awesomeness.

  19. I love the booties you teamed up with this, definitely add an edge for sure. I don't like girlie looks so I always add something black or spiky to lace looks
