You know those days when you feel like nothing's going right? When problems seem to be creeping up one after another and you can't really think straight anymore?
I've been having a few of those days the past week. If not for having my faith, I'd most probably be crumbling in tears and wanting to just end it all. I feel like during those times that I find it hard to see which step I'm supposed to take next, there's only one person I could cling onto and I turn to prayer. Somehow, someway, things always get better. It may not happen the way you envision it to happen, but He knows what's best.
I write this post not to put a dark, menacing cloud over your sunny day. I share this in hopes that if ever you go through the tough times and you feel lost, He is there.
There is a God bigger than your problems. Don't stop trying.
Hugs,
The Belated Bloomer
PS: If my smiles here all look awkward, it's because a waiter in a cafe right across from where we shot these was staring at us the whole time. I was hoping a customer would distract him, but business was slow that afternoon. So I went with, "grin and bear it." The embarrassing things I do for this blog.
PPS: My hair is truly becoming unruly. Any recommendations on taming the beast without killing it?
You look so classically cute! And the sleeves on this baby are perfection. Ruffled in navy and white? Yes, yes please.
ReplyDeleteand for hair treatments? Ok, well, my tried-and-true trick to having shiny, manageable hair is to only wash it ever other shower. I know, I know, it sounds gross. But if you buy some dry shampoo it can be an ok process once your hair gets used to it. I only shower every two days and wash my hair every four. After the initial oil-fest that was my hair for a few weeks, it calmed down and now I barely noticed that it needs washing.
Another thing I do is condition, condition, and condition. I have a deep condition, leave-in-detangler, coconut oil strengthener, and an overnight keratin complex conditioner.
Also, HEAT PROTECTION. Before you blow dry, before you straighten or curl, and before you head into the sun.
And regular trims help as well.

DeleteI love this detailed reply, A! Seriously, thanks for this. I guess there is no shortcut to great hair and I must put in the work to condition, condition, condition.
lovely dress:) I'm not sure what to recommend for the hair, it's so individual...

DeleteThanks! I do feel like a kid in it!
Very nice nautical-type look, Abi. This is a very nice nautical dress, and the metallic sandals are also nice. I am sorry you endured one of those times when it seems like negativity has taken you over. If it makes you feel any better... reading your blog and seeing your outfits make me happy each day. Knowing you can make someone's day is enough to help you feel better and accomplished no matter what life brings your way. As for your hair, I'm no hair expert, so I have nothing to suggest to help you out here. You still have lovely hair regardless. Stay awesome! :)

DeletePretty dress! Sometimes I wish I were more of a dress person, but I seem to be stuck on jeans. Lol.
ReplyDeleteI used to be that way, but I'm now embracing my inner Kikay. :D
DeleteYou might have just become one of my favorite reads. Yes, you had me at "If not for having my faith".. Agree to everything you said. As for your hair, I wish I am in the position to give advice. I myself have an unruly hair and I like it like that.. Yours looks tamed to me though :)

DeleteHaha! My hair is a sleeping beast. It's still undecided as to whether it would like to be straight of wavy. :)
I have the same dress (almost)! :) You still look radiant eventhough you've been having a few rough days.
